Internet Browsers

There are a few different internet browsers which you can use for browsing the internet. You’ve probably heard of some of them, even if you didn’t really know what they did. Well, they are the software application which enables you to retrieve, present and traverse information information resources on the web.

Let’s take a look at them in order of popularity (as of March 2011).

Internet Explorer has the greatest number of users, nabbing a massive 43.2% of the pot.

Mozilla Firefox comes in a strong second, but it’s not really that close with only a 28.6% share.

Google Chrome is next, but again the figure is about halved to 14.6%.

Safari has a creditable 6.3% of browsers.

Opera can boast 2.6%

Now I know that some of you smart alecs will notice that the above figures don’t add up, so just for you I’ll tell you why . . . because the other 4.7% use mobile browsers, that’s why. There, does that add up now? Yes, according to my calculator (I didn’t have enough fingers) that makes 100%. Yippeee, unbelievable!
